Dodgers rookie Blake Dewitt, a Sikeston native, had a key hit in last night’s NLCS game. It was his first hit of the series, but it was big. After falling behind 0-2 in the count, he drilled a two-out triple to right and drove in three runs.
“Furcal, that gives you an indication what he means at the top of our batting order,” Torre said. “And then the two-out base hit by Blake DeWitt, I think, was the back-breaker for them. Because he was down 0-2 and he really kept things together.” (Read the game wrap)
Blake’s postgame interview was shown repeatedly on the local news channels. Seems as if there are an awful lot of Dodgers fans these days down here in Cardinals country. Go Blake!
